Frequently Asked Questions
How often should we audit?
Many organisations audit annually, but frequency depends on risk and accreditation requirements.
What if serious issues are found?
We discuss serious findings immediately so you can take prompt action.
What is the difference between an audit and an inspection?
An inspection looks at conditions on the day: whether guards are fitted, routes are clear, equipment is in good order. An audit looks at the management system behind those conditions: whether your arrangements are adequate, whether they are being followed, and whether they produce the results they should. Most businesses benefit from both, at different frequencies.
Will you audit against ISO 45001?
Yes. We carry out gap analysis against ISO 45001 for businesses working towards certification or wanting to benchmark against it without certifying. We are not a certification body, so this is preparation and improvement work rather than the certification audit itself, which has to come from an accredited body.
Can you audit our contractors and suppliers?
Yes. Supply chain audits are increasingly common, particularly where a client holds duties for work carried out on their premises by others. We assess contractor arrangements against your requirements and report on whether they genuinely have the competence and controls they claim.
What does the report look like?
A written report with photographic evidence, findings ranked by risk rather than listed flat, and a clear separation between what is legally required and what is good practice. Each finding gets a recommended action. Where you want it, we set the report up so actions can be assigned to owners and tracked to closure.
